Monthly Reset – Mega Millions and More
Another end to another month. It was not the most eventful month which can always be a good or bad thing. This time I’ll say it was an okay thing. According to the tarot readings on YouTube, August is going to be my month. I’m on “a path of transformation.” Fingers crossed.
There’s this trend going around on YouTube, where creators have a “monthly reset” and recap the month, set goals, and review some of their favorite things. I think it would be interesting to start doing that.
July Recap
Blog
Starting this blog was the highlight of the month of July. It was a goal that I finally accomplished. I will say there’s been ups and downs related to this though. Realistically I know I won’t be getting views for quite some time. Especially because I haven’t necessarily been promoting it. That being said, I can’t help but dream of being that one in a million whose blog blows up overnight. I’ve been struggling with that especially because I have hopes that this blog will become my main source of income and I can quit my job. The desperation I have to quit my job has definitely influenced my relationship with the blog. You know what they say though, the universe does not work with desperate people.
Mega Millions
Let’s not forget the Mega Millions! The lottery that was worth 1.2 billion USD. I can’t say I ever really played the lotto. I’m a math girl, I know my odds. Up until Friday I had only ever played once before, but when the amount of money increased, I just had to play. Granted if the money increases, the number of players also increase, therefore decreasing my odds of actually winning. But as my mother likes to say, “Sure you may not win if you play, but you DEFINITELY won’t win if you don’t play.” I mean, can’t really fight her on that logic. So I played 6 different sets of numbers. Add the fact that my YouTube tarot readings kept hinting at me coming into a large sum of money, I was high on thinking I could win. The night before the drawing, I remember waking up in cold sweat stressed about bills. Then I thought to myself that I was going to be a billionaire tomorrow, so I didn’t need to worry about that anymore, and went into a peaceful sleep. Needless to say, I didn’t win. So now I’m still needing to worry about paying the bills. I love the fact that I was devastated to hear I didn’t win. Again, I’m good at math, I knew my odds. It was nice to dream though.
Goals for August
There are a couple things I’d like to focus on for this month.
Health
Lately, I’ve been doing really great keeping up with some form of exercise. I’ve recently started the Chloe Ting summer shred challenge, and have kept up with it thus far. I’ve also been really good about continuously taking my dogs out for a mile run. However, room for improvement would be that I’d like to find some form of exercise to do with my family. They’re not big on exercising (me either) but I think if I find a fun exercise we might learn to love it and it could be a hobby! So far, I’m thinking we will do tennis because it’s a full body workout and it only needs two people to play.
Blog
I’d like to be more consistent with posting. I try to post twice a week on Monday and Friday. So far I’ve been good about posting twice a week but the day I post varies. I’d also like to reach 100 visitors on my page. This will mean that I need to start promoting myself on social media and try to gain a following that way. I’ve never been great at advocating for myself of putting myself out there, so this will be especially challenging. I haven’t even told my family I have a blog, I figured I’d tell them once I’m rich.
Digital Products
Again, the goal of me creating this blog was to build a form of income. That being said, I can’t be putting all my eggs in one basket. I’ve spent a pretty penny on creating this blog so I can’t exactly be spending more money on my next venture into passive income. I’ve recently found out about creating digital products and it’s something I think I could do. This month I’d like to focus on researching and deciding which digital product I will try to sell.
